Where our facts come from
We prioritize official Steam store pages, Steam announcements, and developer or publisher sources. Recheckable third-party sources can supplement a missing detail, such as a clearly stated UTC deadline. They do not override conflicting official information.
What “checked” means
A verification timestamp records when we inspected the cited source. It is not a promise that the listing is unchanged or that every region is eligible. Game pages link to Steam so you can confirm access and system requirements before downloading.
We use Steam metadata to verify product identity and platform flags. We also inspect the store's access wording: a zero price or a free flag alone can represent a temporary promotion.
Different kinds of free
We keep free-to-play base games, free-to-keep promotions, free weekends, and demos distinct. A free DLC, soundtrack, trial or limited chapter is not represented as a permanently free complete game.
Offer freshness
Our recent-offer listings use checks less than 48 hours old and show the known claim deadline. After that period, the record asks you to check Steam again. When a known deadline passes, the offer is removed from the recent list on the next build; with JavaScript enabled, an already loaded page also hides it. Historical details remain dated and accessible.
Static pages are snapshots. With scripts disabled, rely on the displayed dates and verify the official store rather than assuming a promotion is still active.
Conflicts and corrections
We omit uncertain facts instead of filling gaps. Corrections require a source check, an updated local record, validation and a new publication. Significant changes can be documented in catalog updates.
Editorial limits
We do not invent player counts, reviews, testing experience, rankings or giveaway dates. There are no sponsored placements or affiliate links in this first version. Our concise game summaries are original writing based on the listed sources.
